Bellingham Scouts of America Troop 14

Everyone, this spring and summer has been far from normal.  We were all hoping this would have been done in the traditional way through the Wanocksett Call Out Ceremony in front of parents and the troop on a typical Wednesday night.  Unfortunately this is 2020 and we don’t get those opportunities.  Nonetheless this should be a huge accomplishment for the following eligible scouts who on the night of May 4th were nominated into the Tantamous Lodge – Japeechen Chapter Order of the Arrow by their peers.
Congratulations to the following scouts and also a good reminder for parents feel free to update their photos on scoutbook.

Dear Scouting Family:

It is with great disappointment that the Mayflower Council announces that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will not allow resident camp programs to be conducted before the summer of 2021. As we stated from the initial decision to move forward, we would only do so if we could conduct a safe program, within the guidelines of national, state, and local authorities. Based on this latest information, we will not be able to provide a resident camp experience to our Scouts this summer.

Dear Scouting Family,

The Mayflower Council leadership is committed to resuming Scouting’s in-person meetings and activities as our Commonwealth, local authorities and the Council’s COVID-19 Task Force deem it safe to do so. At this time, our Commonwealth remains in Stage Two of the Reopening Massachusetts four phase plan issued by Governor Baker.

On Monday, June 15th the Mayflower Council’s district and council activities, as well as Scout unit meetings and activities, are permitted to resume in-person, with limitations. Many of you have been looking forward to being able to gather together again to work on advancement, go camping, and complete service projects; but we also want to ensure these activities are being done as safely as possible.

We will be going to Camp Squanto this summer as the State of NH forced Wanocksett to close. We will be there on July 12, 2020 Summer Camp at Squanto.

Parents/Leaders, a week from Saturday on June 20th we are going to load the truck at the Recycle Center at 119 Maple Street, MA.at 8:30 am – 9:30 am.

For safety reasons we are not asking the scouts to do this. We are asking a parent with a mask to come down and help load the truck. If a parent helps out their scout or scouts will get credit towards their scoutbucks for attending.
